Birth of a Brand

Tahina's is the dream of serial entrepreneurs. As partners in a successful branding and consulting firm, Jory Schunick and Jeff McCabe often talked about opening their own chain restaurant "when they found the right concept." Having worked with dozens of other restaurateurs, they had in-depth knowledge of why some succeed and others struggle. Today's healthy lifestyle and the opportunity to provide flavorful and healthy meals with a Mediterranean focus created the perfect opportunity.

From its inception in November of 2008, Tahina's was designed to be franchised. With its modern décor, efficient layout, quick service model and detailed operating procedures, Tahina's is the ideal franchise.

Our Team

Tahina's core team includes Jory Schunick, Jeff McCabe, David Levitt and Morris Scherlis. In addition to Jory and Jeff's marketing background, David's 30+ years of restaurant operations, including but not limited to Outback Steakhouse, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our group.

As a fast service casual restaurant, we offer three mouthwatering food selections, falafel, beef and chicken-all homemade daily, in a choice of a pita sandwich or salad bowl.  These delicious meals are then complimented with your choice of fresh toppings such as Tahina's salad, hummus, eggplant, tabbouleh, feta, carrot salad and many more.  Topped off with our signature sauces including spicy feta, zesty garlic and tahina, our food is exceptional.

Falafel is actually the best selling sandwich in the world.  Making its debut in the Mediterranean region, the falafel has been enjoyed by billions of people for over a hundred years. Falafel is traditional fare made from ground chickpeas, fava beans and a special blend of signature spices, lightly fried in a blend of canola and soybean oil. The result is a vegetarian meat alternative that combines a crunchy shell with a tender and perfectly seasoned inside.

Long popular with vegetarians, the falafel has now been discovered by non-vegetarians who find this scrumptious sensation makes a perfect complement for chicken or beef or satisfies all by itself.

How do I know if my area is a good market for a Tahina's?

If you have ever found yourself going out to eat and searching for something different from the usual sandwich, pizza and burger restaurants that crowd your city, then you understand the opportunity that exists for a quick service restaurant like Tahina's. And you are not alone. Tahina's healthy flavorful Mediterranean fare provides the perfect alternative to fast food. Now you can be the one to fill this need in your community.

Here are some of the basic criteria when evaluating a location:

· Population of at least 30,000 in a 3 mile radius· Daytime business population· 1,200 to 1,500 square foot location· Strip mall or urban plaza locations· University setting

Is there training? Do you provide support?

Tahina's provides a training and support program to help you every step of the way. You start with two weeks of training at our corporate location, working with our training team in our store. This initial training occurs 30-60 days prior to the opening of your location and directs you through everything you need to run your business???? including daily operations, preparing menu items and marketing your business. When your store opens, we also provide members of our training team to assist you at your location for the first week. Training continues with your personal Franchise Business Advisor who works with you step by step on an ongoing basis.

How much will I need to invest?

The estimated initial investments to establish a Tahina's franchise is from $148,583 to $286,200. This includes a franchise fee of $30,000 as well as the restaurant furnishings and equipment, location build out, inventory, point of sale system, grand opening marketing budget, three month's rent, permits and working capital to open your business.

How much money can I make?

The Federal Trade Commission regulates what Tahina's is allowed to disclose to potential franchisees. As you proceed through the process of purchasing your Tahina's business, you will receive the Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) that details more about the business opportunity.

What do I need to own a Tahina's franchise?

· Previous sales or business experience is preferred · Minimum of $75,000 working capital with good credit· Knowledge of the trade area where the store will be located

Getting Started

1. Review franchise information on www.Tahinas.com. Many of your initial questions will be answered by the information provided here.

2. Complete "Information Request Form"

Please contact franchise@tahinas.com to receive and complete our Information Request Form. If you meet our preliminary criteria and your territory is available, a representative will be in touch within 2 business days.

3. Initial phone call

During our first call we will further discuss the Tahina's franchise opportunity. We will also cover a few key topics including; your motivation, business background and territory of interest.

4. Receive marketing packet

After you've talked with one of Tahina's Franchise Sales Associates will send out a Marketing Packet with additional information on the program and a Request for Consideration Form.

5. Return Request for Consideration Form

This confidential form tells us that you are serious about the Tahina's franchising opportunity. It will also give us a clear picture of your financial and managerial plans. Please print the form, fill it out and fax it to 410.356.2261

6. Receive FDD

Upon receipt of your completed Request for Consideration Form, we will mail you our Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD). The FDD further defines the relationship between the Franchisor (us) and the Franchisee (you). It is a legal document, and it is what you will sign in order to become a Tahina's franchisee.

7. FDD Conference Call

Within two weeks of receiving the FDD, we will contact you to schedule a FDD meeting or conference call. This call will give you the opportunity to ask any questions that you may have about the FDD or Franchise Agreement. If you plan to review the FDD with an attorney, or have specific legal questions, please submit your questions prior to our call.

8. Discovery Day!

Your Discovery should be held within 30 days of your FDD Conference Call. Discovery Days are held at our corporate headquarters in Owings Mills, Maryland. You will have the opportunity to view our operations and see firsthand how Tahina's works as well as spend time with our staff and management team.

9. Signing

If we feel that you are a great franchisee candidate, we will send you a formal written offer including the assigned territory. The signing is done remotely and does not require a trip back to our headquarters.
